Professional Review

Universe Sandbox is an absolutely unique game where you can break laws of physics to change the universe beyond recognition. Create planets, solar systems, stars, asteroids. Cause cosmic catastrophes to figure out what could happen if something went wrong. Universe Sandbox downloading is available for Windows PC, Mac OS, Ubuntu, SteamOS and Linux on Steam, Amazon, Teacher Gaming and Humble Store.

Graphics 4.5/5

On the one hand, Universe Sandbox visuals includes only a black canvas of endless space with stars and multiple flying spherical objects with low-definition sprites instead of detailed textures. On the other hand, it’s a unique game where you can watch realistic physically realistic collisions of planets, the birth of Supernova and explosions of different stars. All of these are made with high scientific precision and attention to detail. This Universe Sandbox review took a while for fact-checking, and the verdict is that you won’t find any nonexistent space objects in this game.

Gameplay 5/5

This game is fully responsible for its title as sandbox features here are on the top level. First of all, you can test endless scenarios of planetary movements. You are free to simulate flights of all kinds of celestial bodies. All algorithms were made with Newtonian mechanics, and real physics are taken into account. That’s why planet collisions and explosions look so realistic.

You can also use the in-game space editor to create your own solar systems to watch how they work. You are allowed to change the speed of N-bodies rotation around the Sun to see any changes in the scope of light years. Another simulation mode provides a possibility to try out various Earth’s climate models. You can see what could happen in case of a global meltdown, freezing or global toxic contamination.

Controls 5/5

Universe Sandbox is easily controlled with a PC mouse. In fact, you don’t need anything else, because all navigation and editing elements are constantly displayed at the bottom line of the screen. There’s no way to make mistakes, because you can take steps backward and forward.

Replay Value 4.5/5

This game provides a unique experience of conducting impossible experiments of interstellar scale. This process is highly exciting for gamers of any age. This simulator can be also used as a part of the educational process in schools and colleges. Students can ask any questions and see how something could happen in reality.

The Bottom Line

Universe Sandbox is a superb gaming experience based on real scientific researches and laws of physics. Everything that humanity knows about space, planets, stars, black holes are implemented in this gorgeous game.

Conclusion

With downloading Universe Sandbox, you get a unique experience of creating and destroying solar systems.
