Professional Review

Crash wheels is about racing at different moving tracks where a lot of things can kill you. Add to that super fast acceleration of your car and falling parts, and you have an interesting race game on your hands. You can download Crash Wheels for Microsoft Windows only.

Graphics 2/5

This game has a lot of tracks, but all of them are made of simple shapes graphics - you'll see giant balls here, cylinders, cubes etc. No special animation to different types of damage, everything is the same with the same sound. The car looks like a toy and isn't realistic. But when it starts falling apart, it can't move in accordance to the missing part.

Gameplay 3/5

There's a level system in this game with two first tracks out of 32 available in the beginning. You can't choose a car here. You'll always operate the same yellow Corvette from the '80s. And your enemies will always me same looking red cars. There's too much acceleration going on - the car gets drifted a lot to the sideways, and it becomes difficult to control it at times. So you'll get the damage pretty quickly. The game has a dynamic camera so you can see all the damage from any side of a car.

You have different tracks here with different levels of difficulty. Sometimes you'll have to jump over really long distances in the middle of roads. Try not to miss them. While you're driving different parts of your car will fly away even if you don't actually hit something which sometimes can drive you mad. But that's the point of the game - to get you frustrated and stressed out a little and make you come back to the game for the final victory.

Controls 3/5

When you begin your menu consists of Play, Crash test, Settings, About and Exit. In the crash test, you can practice driving your car and see what damage it can get by hitting random obstacles and walls. Hit X when you need to restore your car - it'll become brand new in a mere moment. Very difficult to control this car once it's damaged.

Replay Value 3/5

The difficulty of a damage physics makes it even better for some people. So if you're a fan of failing more often than you normally would, you'd definitely be back for more. But there's not too many levels to play on the other hand - fifty-fifty chance to get back to it. Maybe if you don't want to overpower your brain with work this game will be perfect for you.

The Bottom Line

This Crash Wheels review informs you that it's a surely playable game, at least for one time. You have here different and exciting enough tracks to race with an AI and see how they fall along with you. The difficulty gets harder as you go. Too damaging and accelerating physics actually makes sense in this game, otherwise, it would be just another race game. The multiplayer is really missing though, it would be more fun to try to hit and crash other players online.

Conclusion

If you like racing against AI only with 100% chance of win but funny graphics and difficult track - go ahead and download Crash Wheels.

Pros : Funny physics;
You'll always win at the end;
Difficult enough and different tracks.

Cons : Too easy to damage a car sometimes;
No multiplayer available.
